Class News 2006

1939

Mary T. O'Donnell Fitzpatrick writes to tell us that she is an independent resident of a retirement community.

1945

Florence T. Traber has recently moved to the west coast and living with her daughter and daughter's husband and their two children. She wants to stay in touch and wants her address and telephone number shared with you. 1500 Old House Road Pasadena, CA 91107. 626-798-3365

1953

Katherine (Kay) Sinclair has moved from White Plains, NY to Kendal on Hudson, to a continuing care retirement community that is non-profit and Quaker related. She writes that she is well and enjoying life there. She has met a lot of interesting people, is enjoying the activities and lots of Hudson River sunsets. (like the old XEO days without the sunsets)

1954

Arline Petty Collier has shared some sad news with us. Marie DiGirolamo Placido '55 died in the spring of 2005. She had resided in California for the past 50 years.

1956

Tom '53 and Vivian Schiro Benenati '56 are enjoying retirement and busy with 6 grandchildren. They cruised the Caribbean in Feb., 2004 with her roommate Beatrice Engelhardt Wright '56 and her husband Jack.

1957

Beth Stefano writes that her husband John was ill Nov. 2005 and is enjoying the exceptional Colorado weather. She misses New York but not the weather in the Finger Lakes. She is looking forward to this June and her 50th reunion.

1961

Joan Heywood Valesente and her husband are enjoying retirement. They golf and do a lot of volunteering. Their youngest child, Michelle, married Mike Sands in Seneca, NY. They are expecting a baby in late May and are living nearby in Buffalo.

1966

The sisters of '66 had a reunion and had good participation from their class. Sandy Cappella Governanti has two granddaughters that are a joy to her. She has done some traveling over the last two years in Europe. (Italy and France) Anne (Eleanor ) Luden Latsch has gotten together with Naomi Mc Elraith Woolsey and Sandy Urban Sidelko in FL and is now living in Port Charlotte. Fl. Carol Hrvol Flores is still teaching at Ball State University and has a new book out called Owen Jones. Design, Ornament, Architecture and Theory in an Age in Transition. Naomi McElraith Woolsey is still in the DC area and had Anne Latsch visit her from Florida in the fall of '05.

1967

Stephanie DeSimone Bollam hosted Pat Doi Valentine '66 at her home and called a few local sisters to see Pat and have dinner at TGIFriday's. Attending were Carol Castorina Reid '66, Mary Kay Sawyer '67, and Michele LaRocca Nigriny '66 along with Pat, Stephanie and Stephanie’s husband Rich.

1968

We are very sad to report that Kathy Hornecek Torino has passed away of a brain tumor. She was so active in the sorority, and will be greatly missed. Here's a photo of Kathy at our 2002 reunion.

1970

Harriet Solomon Wise has moved to the Las Vegas area and hopes to keep working in the Long-term Care field. Her daughter, Lauren, will be joining her there and her older daughter, Joanna, will finish grad school and is heading to San Diego. She invites you to look her up if in Vegas.

1974

Fern Brown is Coordinator of Gifted Programming for students in grades 3-6 in Sanford, Maine. She is also Co-Director of Maine Adventures in Creativity, which sponsors the Odyssey of the Mind creative program Her sons became engaged to be married within one month of one another. Joe was married in Feb '06 and Michael will be married in Aug. '07.

1975

Susan Eckstein Homans writes that despite the partial paralysis caused by the spinal cord surgery in 2000, she maintains a full roster of volunteer activities at her son's school. Susan and her husband will be celebrating their son's Bar Mitzvah and Bud's daughter’s wedding in Israel in June '06.

1976

Cheryl Schneider has been awarded her 4th contract from Apple Computer to deliver their training for IT professional across the USA. Cheryl is an Apple Certified Systems Administrator (ACSA), an Apple Certified Trainer (ACT) and a certified member of the Apple Consultants Network (ACN). Allison Berg Kahn sends news that son Chris married Loretta Marie in Las Vegas in Nov. 2005 and that the dogs were best men.
