How to apply for the
Chi Sigma Theta Scholarship
|
|
The Chi Sigma Theta Scholarship, endowed by the Chi Sigma Theta sorority alumnae, provides for a scholarship of up to $1,000 to a sister(s), a direct descendant(s), or step-descendant(s) of an initiated member of Chi Sigma Theta.
***Completed applications will be due by APRIL 15, 2008***

Eligibility:
- 1. The applicant must be a sister, a direct descendant or a step-descendent, either male or female, of an initiated member of the Chi Sigma Theta Sorority. Direct descendants include children (both natural or adopted), grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc. of a Chi Sigma Theta member.
- 2. The applicant must be enrolled in or admitted to a full-time program (12 credit hours or more per semester) at a post secondary institution.
Selection Criteria:
Achievement, goals, involvement and personal character as determined by:
- 1. Scholastic achievement
- 2. Evaluation through the personal statement of career/professional goals and achievement
- 3. Consideration of the applicant's involvement in school/community service and/or employment either part or full time
- 4. Evaluation through the letters of recommendation
THE SELECTION COMMITTEE RECOGNIZES THAT THERE WILL BE DIFFERENCES IN AGE AS WELL AS IN LENGTH AND TYPES OF EXPERIENCES OF THE APPLICANTS. FINAL SELECTION IS BASED ON MERIT AND WORTHINESS.
